Switching to Linux III

This is the third and final update about my efforts to completely switch to ZorinOS.

In the last update, I wrote that I adopted my younger brother’s old laptop and installed ZorinOS on it. However, I couldn’t continue to use it because some keys on the keyboard didn’t work, which my brother confirmed was an issue he forgot to tell me about.

Anyway, colour me excited because I have switched to Linux completely. Going through this process of switching was incredibly fulfilling and satisfied my curiosity.

For my MacBook, I sold it. The screen developed a fault and began to glitch. It’s almost as if the universe knew I needed a reason to get rid of it.

My current machine is a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. It is fast and the screen is amazing with very good battery life. Installing ZorinOS on it took less than thirty minutes and it loads fast.

I did my research on the Linux alternatives to the Windows and Mac apps I use before making the switch so setting things up and running from day one was super easy.

Lastly, I am documenting the changes, configurations and everything in between that I do on my ZorinOS installation publicly for anyone looking to switch to Linux. I am calling it TinyZorin.

Check it out.
